For our current exhibition: Artist's Jewellery, Sachs produced the project Unchained.
Created with ready-made fastenings in mischievous combinations of silver and vermeil, there are 4 unmarked 18ct gold units mixed into the 150cm chain. Drawing upon collective memory while simultaneously playing with form and function, the chain is readily adjustable to the wearer's specifications. In addition, not only can the chain be divided up into different length necklaces, chokers, belts or bracelets, but it also requires the wearer to play Sachs game, never quite knowing which units are gold and which are not.
