Preoccupied with exploring sexuality and relationships, in his later work Copley merged his playful American Pop Art sensibility with his Surrealist roots. His only necklace design, Chaìne pour une femme enceinte, was made in collaboration with GianCarlo Montebello and exudes the artist’s signature combination of joviality and nuanced social commentary. In a subtle critique of American contemporary society, every limb of each figure can be manipulated by the wearer, an allegory for advertising and Western commercialism.
