In keeping with his desire to integrate art into the everyday, Scharf’s jewellery project from 2007 featured pendants and brooches with big cartoon-like faces, the nose of the character made from a giant pearl. This project was realised with Sarah Benda and exemplifies the expansive range of Scharf’s practice which spans sculpture, muralism, painting and installation.
