Sevan Biçakçi
In ancient times, gladiators would often adorn their hands and wrists with a Cestus, a
type of leather battle glove, to gain an advantage in combat. These braided leather
gloves were sometimes outfitted with metal plates, blades, or spikes to serve as
weapons. Sevan Bıçakçı's Cestus, however, is devoid of such weaponry, simply wrapping
around the wrist to embody a sense of cool, collected self-assurance in the face of
conflict. The dagger-shaped design of the locking mechanism pays homage to
Bıçakçı's surname.
